Three Blessings Photography

So, "LIFE" has come to visit and it's not been a pleasant visit.
Unfortunately my photography has had to take a back seat. I'm hoping very soon that will change.
I'm so sorry to have to blog this....it should be simple enough to go out take some photos and post them, but it's not.
Hope to be posting again soon!

Feed Your Soul.....with Photography
This past weekend I was so blessed to be able to spend time watching another CreativeLIVE photography workshop. If you are a photographer and have not yet discovered CreativeLIVE you must - check it out today! Once a month or so they offer free weekend workshops by some of the best photographers out there - Zack Arias, Bambi Cantrell, and Penny De Los Santos to name a few. These are my top three favorites right now so their names came easily to me. These photographers are all so very different but yet they all have something to bring to the world of photography! The workshops are always for sale - usually $99 during the weekend and then $149 after that.
This weekend was a food photography workshop with Penny De Los Santos. I know what you are thinking - food photography?? Trust me, it's more than about the food. I almost cannot bring everything I feel to words. There was something different about this workshop. Penny was so inspiring and motivating. She's extremely gifted and not just with her camera but as a person to others - she's giving of herself and she's transparent with others. Just an amazing person! Honestly, I don't think my photography will ever be the same. This weekend gave me a confirmation of what I needed to hear (from someone I do not even know personally but yet it's there).
I can do this.
I've been at a crossroads in my life for a couple of years now. I'm 43 and I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life - and what God wants me to do with the rest of my life. What has He given me to use for others.....for Him?
Penny spent some time sharing some of her photos, and some of her life with us. She was very precise in what she wanted to get across to us ~
I cannot even put into words what these 7 statements mean to me. The impact they had on me as she was saying them. Something inside of me moved, opened up. It's more than a challenge. It's more than just photography but you sure can bet it's gonna be seen in my photography and in my future.......
I can do this. I believe a part of me that has been hidden for many years is about to emerge from a cocoon within myself. The question I've asked myself lately and one we should all ask ourselves from time to time is:
Are you doing what you love? Why not?

Changes are Coming.....
I've changed the name....My Serendipity Photography posed a few problems. Mostly, it's hard to remember and (dare I say) hard to spell for many people. So I've given quite a bit of thought for several months now and tonight it just sorta came to me (with the help of one of my blessings) that I'd "rename" my photography blog to THREE BLESSINGS PHOTOGRAPHY. Easier to remember, easier to spell and it seems to flow very easily! Now as soon as I get a really good photo of my three blessings who have inspired their mama greatly - I'll be posting!
By the way, this is also a test post to see if the email subscriptions still work so give me a shout out if you got this in your email!
Cheers to All!

Open Shade - Outdoor Portrait
I'm half way through my photography course and am now working on the portraiture part including but not limited to studio lighting, location (studio and outdoor), child & pet photography and wedding photography.
This is my outdoor; open shade portrait. This was taken outside, under a tree in the shade, no flash, no extra lighting of any kind (except for the little sun shining that day) I used a tripod of course or would have never been able to have gotten it sharp and clean.
This is my daughter....she'll be 17 in April. I usually don't put much out about my kids online for their safety but she's just so beautiful I couldn't NOT share!
