A Heroes Parade....

These photos are overdue. Back in February, the city of El Paso had a HEROES PARADE for 4000+ soldiers that came home from Iraq. They spent 15 months there. The city of El Paso was blessed to see these soldiers come home over the course of the end of November until Christmas Eve 2007. They came home in small groups; day after day.
I thought it was awesome the city honored them in such a way. It definately was the best parade I've been too and it really boosted my spirit and pride in the good ole' USA! Best of all, this pararde was only the soldiers. No politicians riding and waving to people, no companies soliciting their brand...just the soldiers! There were 31 unridden horses in honor and memory of the 31 that did not make it home.
People cheered. The whole time; shouts of "Welcome Home" and "THANK YOU". I know I saw some "seasoned" soldiers holding back the tears. Every city should follow El Paso's example!

That was great. I wish all our towns and cities remembered the returned and unreturned as well. There is still good out there. Mom

This is so cool. I am so glad to see a city remember the soldiers.
