Team Up Thursday - NATURE

Nature - my photo is the Green Tree Boa snake. It was taken at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland. I don't know if it's "cheating" since he wasn't exactly in his complete "nature" environment but he does belong to God's nature and the aquarium is really the only place I ever would want to run into him.

This weeks theme was something that we enjoy. I enjoy quite a bit but I narrowed it down to the butterfly house at my local botanical gardens. It's a very nice house, lots of butterflies in and out of the house. They truly are some of the most beautiful gardens I've ever seen.

Team Up Thursday - YELLOW

I know, it's Friday but for both Deanna and it's been one of those weeks. At least we're here this week! Last week we missed again just due to life!

It's so funny how Deanna & I think alike. We only talked about our theme of yellow - we never said anything about fruit yet we both choose a yellow fruit! We live 1000 miles apart and yet one would think we still lived across the street from each other!

My photo is the lemons. These lemons were found on the side of the lemonade mix can sitting on my kitchen counter. The flash did not fire. The only lighting used was the available kitchen lighting. I did mess just a tiny bit in my Adobe Photoshop CS4 - I tweaked the temperature just a tiny bit and added a little bit of fill light. I shot it on (my standard) Aperture Mode at an f/5.7

This week Deanna and I went with a theme of family. Last week, due too many life circumstances, Deanna & I both had to skip our TUT challenge.

My photo, on top, was taken at my middle child's graduation Sunday at church. We do have one family member missing, my husband who is currently deployed with the US Navy.

Team Up Thursday - PETS

Well, we missed last week. That's kinda my fault. My camera decided to just not work. I was getting an "err" code so I had to send it in to be serviced. Thank goodness for extended warranties - they are worth every single penny!!! As I'm typing up this blog, I'm anxiously awaiting for the big brown truck that my camera is riding in for delivery today! I'm keeping my fingers crossed it was fixed and I can go shooting this weekend!

In the meantime - PETS! Who doesn't love their family pets?? My photo is the top one. That is our family cat, Tigger. He's one of two that we love on and adore every day! He enjoys laying outside in the tall grass. My friend Deanna, has chosen a photo of their family dog and her son.

Team Up Thursday - CIRCLES & Rule of Thirds

So this week I've been in Illinois, visiting my parents. I need to play catch up so here's last weeks Team Up Thursday and this weeks Team Up Thursday.

Last week's theme was CIRCLES.
Deanna captured the crayons waiting to be used on the drawing. I love this. I'm a big fan of selective focus photography though. I captured some of my craft ribbon with circles on it.




This week's theme is the RULE OF THIRDS. This is one of the most common and useful composition techniques in photography. Deanna and I both went for flowers; hers is painted and mine are in a shade pot!

Team Up Thursday - WATER

This weeks theme was WATER. My shot is the rose with the water drops. Deanna's shot is of her son's hands in the water. I love this. I really like both of our photos this week. In my opinion they seem to be more creative than the last couple of weeks. I did adjust the temperature (which adjusts the color) just a bit on mine. For some reason with my lighting (and probably the fact I was in a rush to get my shot finished) the rose came out much more orange than what it really is. It does have an orange tint to it - just not like pumpkin orange. So I just tweaked it a tiny bit to look more natural as to how my eye saw the rose.

TEAM Up THURSDAYS

Yes, a new photo challenge. (As if I don't have enough, I know....)

I'm still working diligently on my Project 365 although as I've said before to take a photo daily I'm finding is very challenging. In the meantime, I was approached by my friend Deanna who lives about 1,000 miles away to team up with her on Thursdays to do a photo project. Each week we have a theme, decided by us, and we each take a photo. Then we put them into a diptych (side-by-side) and put them on our blog. It's interesting to see what we each choose for our themes.

The idea is not original. Deanna found it via Mental Inventory who got the idea from Melody at HipMomma's Journal.

So here's our first Team Up Thursday (and yes I realize this is Friday but yesterday was very busy - I'll do my best to post on Thursdays from here on out!)
